MINDFULNESS TRAINING TO REDUCE STRESS & CREATE A RICH AND MEANINGFUL LIFE
Our minds are busy with thousands of thoughts each day, all of which compete for our attention and a consequent action. This untrained mind of buzzing thoughts, also called the monkey mind, is causing us a lot of stress & unrest.
Mindful meditation teaches us to train our mind in stillness and peace through the simple practice of conscious presence & awareness; this is what allows us to deliberately respond and not automatically react to “worldly winds” – the inevitable ups and downs of life.
Can you experience what's pleasant in your day without clinging to it desperately? Can you experience what's unpleasant without desperately needing to push it away, dealing with it calmly, if it needs your attention?
This is what is meant by 'equanimity' in the philosophy of mindfulness.
